It's that time of year again... foxtail season! These pokey grasses (shown in the first photo) are out in force again this June. Although they're pretty, they can lead to serious health complications for animals if they become embedded in an animal's skin or get ingested. So if you notice these in your yard, please remove and dispose of the seed heads before they spread.  It's a beautiful time of year to visit your local botanical garden and get inspired! I had a lovely time giving out garden advice and chatting with fellow plant lovers at the ANLD (Association of NW Landscape Designers) booth for Mother's Day at Leach Botanical Garden this afternoon. Heading home after spending some time recharging in the Colorado Rockies. I had a wonderful evening yesterday watching Oregon Adventure Theatre's production of The Winter's Tale with some friends at Leach Botanical Garden. Experiencing live theater in this spectacular setting was such a delight. There are two more performances this weekend - you should go! 🎭 Had a hummingbird visitor to the Crocosmia! These are great plants for the hummingbirds, and bring some tropical flair to your garden. 💚
